Description

Every founder is being told to build an AI company. Alex Hormozi says almost all of them will be gone within months, that the best move is the exact opposite of what the market is saying, and that in a world of AI the only moat left will be reality and your reputation. Alex Hormozi is a entrepreneur, investor and author. He is the co-founder of Acquisition.com, a portfolio of 16+ companies generating over $250 million a year, and the author of the $100M series: '$100M Offers', '$100M Leads' and '$100M Money Models', whose 2025 launch sold 2.9 million copies in a single day and broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest-selling non-fiction book in history. He explains: ◼ Why the practical businesses, like plumbing, are the real opportunity, not the ones built on top of AI models ◼ Why delegating your hardest thinking to a machine makes you weak ◼ Why reality and reputation are the only moats AI can't erode ◼ Why revenue retention matters more than marketing or sales ◼ Why marrying his wife Leila was the best financial decision he ever made, and how the right partner changes your odds ◼ He opens up about one of the hardest years of his life, in the same year he made more money than ever The views expressed are those of the guest, and this conversation is intended for general informational purposes only. My father got sick and died and my son had a mental health crisis the same month I was presented with an amazing opportunity to acquire my own business. I had to stay strong and be there for my family and myself it was tough. I suppose I became stoic more than anything to get through. My son is doing great now, business is good, yet my peers are expecting me to break down, to hit a wall, to literally explode with repressed grief and stress, but I don't feel the need to. I'm solid. My father would have wanted me to stay strong, positive, and keep forward motion. I'm so excited for life.

I doubt anyone will read this but watching these podcasts (especially Alex & Steven) gave me the courage to resign from my job and chase my dreams with owning my own business. I'm terrified but they've given me confidence that everyone feels scared and that's OK. Love the work Steven, you're doing Gods work. Hope you're all well.

I love when two channels I follow collab, it's like I'm watching 4 hours of content in 2 hours.

I'd add one thing: technology lowers the cost of creating content, but it doesn't lower the cost of earning trust. That still has to be built over time.

Alex’s vocabulary is basically a list of one liner aspirational quotes.

I am so sorry for his loss. I can relate so much to this right now. It is the hardest thing I have had to do: watching my mom so sick that it is clear there is no turning point. For months, I did not know how to deal with it; everything around me crumbled. Constantly crying when seeing her in this condition, hoping we had more time. But then it hit me a few weeks ago: I will do everything she couldn´t do. I will live the life she never had in addition to the life I always wanted. I will follow the encouragement and teachings she gifted me. I will honor her legacy through my life and work.
