As a current of UPS for almost 3 years ... I say again, thank you. These managers couldn't give less of a fuck about our safety despite them having "safety managers".

I work for UPS and recently we have been dealing with them cutting our pay. Everything they say is true. We are overworked in shitty conditions. However, depends where you are in your geographic area, it’s going to be different. Up in the North East we deal with lack of heat in the truck and when it gets cold and if you get stuck out in the snow or break down, you better hope someone will come and save you. I pray things get better, not just for us but for the future workers who rely on the benefits.

Workers wanting decent working conditions? If they get that, next they'll be demanding basic respect as human beings.

The sad part about this. I see so many drivers saying "we dont need air" "man up" "i did it for x years without air" i dont understand why seasoned drivers would be against an improvement in quality of life. I hope to see some changes made for the benefit of the drivers.

My daughter passed away from heat exhaustion. She was 22 years old in excellent shape and a tiny little thing! All I’m saying is it’s a real thing and it happens quick. There were no warning signs. It was too hot. Please drink plenty of water and know that this is a real thing

I dated a girl in high school who's dad was a UPS guy. He was always miserable after work and it made her life miserable and consequently my life miserable. Any little mistake and its a write up. Four or five write ups and find another job. This was the nineties. I can just imagine what its like now.

When I was a much younger man, doing roofing in central florida, I often wished for something like an air conditioned suit. Cops in Florida actually have something like that. In their cars, even though the cars themselves are already air conditioned, they have a tube of chilled air circulating that they can stick into a slot at the top of their body armor. Why do cops deserve such consideration and not people doing other work in as hot or hotter conditions? Well, the work that cops do is to defend the power of the wealthy, and the wealthy are willing to spend some money making sure that they're safe from dangerous like heat exhaustion.

I work for UPS as an RPCD (package car driver). UPS already charges the most of any shipping company. We are paid very, very well, and I pay nothing for top notch benefits. Our problem is: 1. UPS is a publicly traded company with a fiduciary responsibility to it's shareholders. 2. I probably cost as much as 4-5 Amazon drivers MYSELF. If FedEx, Amazon and others aren't all unionized and being paid like us what can UPS do? If they raise prices more we destroy our business. Retro firing trucks, adding all the new costs, doesn't seem feasible. As weird as it sounds, the answer is ALL of America's delivery drivers coming together. Amazon is going to destroy us all with their slave labor and FedEx with their franchising model.

As far as I know, UPS drivers, the package delivery guys who are Teamsters Union have GOOD CONTRACTS. How and Why has this issue been unresolved all this time?! A lot of these guys and gals have 20-30 years with the company

Let's not forget that they are in a union and a pretty strong one at that. This is an issue that the union and UPS is going to have to solve. Be warned for all those that are virtual signalling that they care about the drivers and be prepared to pay more as consumers if they come to an agreement with UPS on a solution. Safety does not come cheap and UPS is not going to eat those cost.
