The main reason why things are going to hell is all the insane corruption by leaders and billionaires, all GREED.

Just remember when the world falls apart, there will be nowhere to hide and if you decide to move to a different country you better be able to blend in because when it hits the fan you will be the first person that gets robbed because you will have more than the locals, think about it.

My concern about South America is that the politics can change quickly whereby a stable country can become a dangerous dictatorship or a collapsed economy, quickly.

You forgot to say that if you get citizenship in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil or Paraguay you become a member of the Mercosur countries and you can live and work in any of them.

My husband moved from USA to here Chile, we got married here and we are currently waiting for his residency. The peace of mind of been together and feeling safe has no price.

6:05 Keep in mind that Paraguay has recently changed its residency rules and it’s no longer possible to obtain temporary residency and simply keep it in your back pocket inactive for two years before returning to apply for permanent residency, more and more people are reporting that their applications for permanent residency are being denied because they cannot prove they actually lived in the country during those two years, they are now requiring evidence of physical presence, this means that now you should spend at least 183 days per year in Paraguay and be able to demonstrate genuine residence through documents such as rental agreements, bank statements, and utility bills.

What you're actually illustrating is the ruination of South America by all of these rich investor types.
