If it pissess off the tech bros, its good for humanity. I
Won't someone think of the companies!!!?!? What happens when this bubble pops and we the people are forced to bail them all out? 50% is generous.
So the government gets a say in how AI used to infringe upon citizens civil rights and we all get nothing because there will be $0 in profits. Awesome idea.
Xai ipo is engineered to steal millions from index funds and 401k, it's literally a wealth transfer. At that point I welcome sanders stealing any amount of it back.
Socialize the profits, and companies eat the losses. Do that and we're talking.
I suspect Mr Sanders realises his bill stands no chance, but by raising the issue of governance, it might start the questioning of Elon Musk’s abuse of long-standing financial rules and encourage SOME form of moralistic control over the extreme content generation that companies are unwilling to handle properly in the name of free speech.
I mean 99,9% of the work in Amazon is done by workers that get paid the minimum but Jeff Bazos that is doing less than 0,0000001% work is worth 300billion. That is the basis of todays work vs idea economy. Funny how when you try to reverse it on them suddenly it doesnt work like that 🤣. I will give it to you, I agree 1000% AI is built on 40k GPUs, 200k severs, 1million$ sever racks its all theirs, nobody will touch that BUT you cant use any public knowledge nor any public or private user data to fill your AI database with. If its a deal just look how the whole AI ecosystem crumbles in a matter of seconds.
OK, I have a solution for companies. Don't ask for government funds/subsidies/investments, and you don't have to worry about the government eating your cake.
I was on board with you until you tried to tie bad ideas to "progressives" without any definition of what that is to you. These labels are meaningless and actually degrade the quality of what you are trying to communicate. To be clear any label used that way would have caused the same reaction. Blah blah AI, "remember when BLM..." Get. Out. Of. Here. With. Ad-[Everything].
Considering it's scraping OUR work, yeah...IF there was a profit actually happening, we are entitled to it. But that's the issue. Maybe that's the plan. By demanding this, they'd have to prove there is profit being made and if they can't prove it, it would show it's a grift.
