Aussie baker here! Standard Meat pies arent just baked meat, its a gravy sauce and minced meat baked into a pie, and lamingtons are dipped in a chocolate glaze which soaks into the outer of the sponge before sandwhiching with cream and jam between, obviously with coconut on the outside applied after dipping in glaze.
