Im currently working at a startup, for over 2 years now and I’ve learned the most here. Flexible and full-remote.
"lifestyle business" when its how 99.9% of businesses on the planet operate
The classic hire more Eng at 60k, but end up being less productive and can’t ship because you’ve hired juniors, so it’s the blind leading the blind, unless you get really lucky.
You would literally be homeless in SF with a salary like that.
you guys get equity?
I really love these videos over your pure programming videos, they really expose alot of the startup industry that looks so opaque from the outside looking in and not many people with experience open up about it
videos we used to get before ai took over theo's channel...enjoyed it
Just got a YC offer was almost identical but 70k and you can prove yourself for equity 😂😂
Sports team is a way better analogy than a family for how employment should feel you will go through tough stuff and bounce back but you are not expected to always play for the same team weather it's for family reasons or you like each other but it's not a good fit
52:00 This is how my startup pitched the offer. They shared a spreadsheet showing different exit scenarios and how that would translate for my equity.
