I think people are so invested in the Lego story because it's a strange version of what's happening in the country right now. *Rich bad guys taking from an everyday person with no shame, and acting like they're in the right*

The amount of damage Bricks & Minifigs has done to itself and their independent franchisees most certainly will cost them well over $200k in the long run.
The response of "we're gonna drag it out in court and you'll spend so much that it's not worth it" is quite literally the quiet part out loud. We've known for generations that that's what legal proceedings often really are, but it's not something one side generally admits to the other..
