UV exposure is the Achilles heel of a lot of coatings and paints as well. While designing the F-35 fighter, we put 2'x2' panels of every kind of coating we could imagine about 50 yards from the water at Daytona Beach and we left them there undisturbed for 2 years. Sun, wind, salt spray, etc. worked those things to death. We took the data from those experiments and actually changed the formulation of our epoxies for better durability. Your tests here are real world and useful for anyone wanting to protect goods for an extended time using tarps.
