WHEN WILL MY LIFE BEGIN…Full Length Watch Alongs & Early Access: https://www.patreon.com/thereelrejects Gift Someone (Or Yourself) An RR Tee! https://shorturl.at/hekk2 Jon Maturan & Roxy Striar step into one of Disney’s most beloved modern classics, bringing you their Tangled (2010) reaction, recap, commentary, breakdown, analysis, and full movie spoiler review!! Jon Maturan & Roxy Striar react to and break down Tangled (2010), the Disney animated musical starring Mandy Moore (This Is Us, A Walk to Remember) as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi (Shazam!, Chuck) as Flynn Rider / Eugene Fitzherbert, a reimagining of the classic Rapunzel fairy tale that blends romance, adventure, and comedy with a surprisingly emotional core. The film follows Rapunzel, a lost princess with magical hair that heals and restores youth, who has spent her entire life locked away in a tower under the control of Mother Gothel, played by Donna Murphy (Spider-Man 2, The Gilded Age). As highlighted in the reaction, the story quickly reveals a darker edge than expected, exploring manipulation and control through Gothel’s relationship with Rapunzel, making her one of Disney’s more unsettling villains. Everything shifts when Rapunzel encounters Flynn Rider, a charming thief on the run, leading to an unlikely partnership as they journey toward the mysterious floating lanterns she has dreamed about her entire life. Along the way, the film delivers standout moments including the Snuggly Duckling sequence, Maximus the relentless horse tracking Flynn, and the emotional turning point as Rapunzel begins to question everything she’s been told. The iconic lantern scene becomes the emotional centerpiece of the film, capturing Rapunzel’s sense of wonder and freedom for the first time, while her relationship with Flynn deepens into something genuine and heartfelt. That connection leads into a shocking final act, where Flynn makes a devastating choice that changes everything for Rapunzel, culminating in a powerful resolution that redefines her identity, her powers, and her place in the world. With a strong supporting cast including Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy) as the Stabbington Brothers, Jeffrey Tambor (Arrested Development, Transparent) as Big Nose Thug, and Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond, Finding Nemo) as Hook Hand Thug, Tangled combines humor, heart, and spectacle into one of Disney’s most memorable modern animated films. Throughout the reaction, Jon & Roxy highlight the film’s unexpected emotional depth, the strength of Rapunzel’s arc, Flynn’s character evolution, and how the movie balances fun musical energy with genuinely powerful storytelling. #Tangled #TangledReaction #Disney #DisneyAnimation #Rapunzel #FlynnRider #MovieReaction #AnimatedMovies #DisneyReaction #reaction ZOOTOPIA (2016): https://youtu.be/MFU5ihSExf8 ZOOTOPIA 2 (2025): https://youtu.be/yh2KqmIBW48 FROZEN (2013): https://youtu.be/vEIJ6T3i0Js FROZEN 2 (2019): https://youtu.be/PBqQPPI3oik Follow *Roxy Striar* YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheWhirlGirls Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/roxystriar/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/roxystriar Follow *Jon Maturan* Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jonmaturan/?hl=en 0:00 Checking In! 2:02 Tangled Reaction 55:20 Tangled Review Intense Suspense by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ RR Clips & Shorts Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ReelRejectsClips Follow TheReelRejects On The Socials: IG: https://www.instagram.com/reelrejects/ TT: https://www.tiktok.com/@thereelrejects?lang=en TWITTER: https://twitter.com/thereelrejects FB: https://www.facebook.com/TheReelRejects/ Music Used In Ad: Hat the Jazz by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Happy Alley by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Head Editor: https://www.instagram.com/prapermedia Supervising Producer: https://twitter.com/nerdchronic?lang=en Co-Editor: Greg Alba Co-Editor: John Humphrey Music In Video: Airport Lounge - Disco Ultralounge by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow & Listen to Us Wherever You Get Your Podcasts!! - Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3XHMwbveiznxSOGxN9XT0M - Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5tZWdhcGhvbmUuZm0vc3Rhci13YXJzLXRhbGs - Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-reel-rejects-tv-movie-recaps/id1616339990 - Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Apocalypse-Podcast/B08JJP58FG PLAYLISTS: Movie Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw-comtadVs8b9JsZEWHUyr8

Eugene and Rapunzel are the last, truly great romance Disney made in their movies imo. (Not counting the unofficial Nick and Judy.) Their chemistry is just built up so well.

When I first watched this, I didn't think too much about Gothel calling her Flower because I thought it was a cute nickname like parents calling their children nicknames. Now I realize she didn't see Rapunzel as a person, especially because I also noticed people mentioning how she only looked at her hair when talking to her. Who else loves how protective these two were of Rapunzel while watching this?❤

Mother Gothel’s biggest mistake was telling Rapunzel her real Birthday.

Rapunzel and Flynn are visible in the crowd going into the castle when it opened in Frozen.

She didn't lie when she said "everything I did was to protect you" because she needed to protect her.
