I'm currently an intern at this company. I'm a student from a public university while my bosses and supervisors came from big, private schools in our country. Some of the things they ask me are, "Why do people from your school not apply to any bigger companies or international scholarships?" "Students from your school rarely speaks up when in a meeting, is there something wrong?" "Why are you people so afraid of failing and taking risks?" For context, the previous batch of interns they had from our university also exhibit the same characteristics that we, the new interns, are showing. We don't speak much, we never ask questions, we' re afraid to apply to bigger companies, etc. My supervisors and bosses mean well. They even recommended us to go and have higher ambitions, pursue graduate studies abroad, and apply to more renowned companies, saying that we can put their names and contacts as our reference number. After hearing their advice, I went on to study how to communicate better. But so far, none of the books or yt vids worked. Not until I came across this lecture. And I finally had the answers to all my bosses' questions. 25 mins in and I'm getting emotional over a fctking lecture about parenting styles. HAHAHHAHAA This is such an eye-opener to me. Hats-off to your Professor!!! I finally understand why we are the way we are. I finally understand that I'm not really the faulty robot that I thought I was, meant to be thrown away for being useless and timid.

Living in a poor country is kind of like waiting for that second marshmallow to come your way because you waited patiently. But then, the adult comes along and takes the first marshmallow, so now you're left with nothing.
