Tonight's question is whether the phenomenon is trying to talk to us, and Matt Barone brings two researchers at it from completely different directions: Andy Thomas, whose decades of work on the paranormal, UFOs, and crop circles has converged on a single conclusion, and Jimmy Blanchette, a mathematician and radio experimenter who claims he received a response to a deliberate contact attempt in 2021 and has spent the four years since decoding what was sent back. His thesis across the book and in this conversation is that the categories we use to separate paranormal phenomena, ghosts, UAPs, psychic experience, synchronicities, out-of-body experiences, are labels we have applied to branches of the same underlying reality. Time and space, in his framing, is leaky. Entities move between layers we do not yet understand, and what we call them depends on the context and the era, not on what they actually are. He is also honest about the current disclosure process: some of the footage is mundane, some of it is spectacular, and no matter how much is released, the people who have been lied to for 80 years are never going to simply take the government's word for it. Jimmy Blanchette is a mathematician and engineer who in 2021 began broadcasting on specific frequencies, including 432Hz and harmonic 144, into the sky as a deliberate contact experiment. What he received back, documented on camera, were geometric shapes including a triangle whose angles corresponded precisely to the two frequencies he was broadcasting on, and whose sides encoded the golden ratio. He has since identified the same three mathematical constants he calls the three pillars of creation, harmonic 144, harmonic 432, and the golden ratio, encoded to a high degree of accuracy in the Great Pyramid of Giza, and present in the coordinate data transmitted in the Rendlesham Forest binary code. His conclusion is that there is a universal mathematical language, calibrated to nautical miles and geometric seconds rather than arbitrary human units, that has been used across thousands of years and multiple civilisations, and that the intelligence that responded to his radio experiment was communicating in exactly that language. His book on the mathematics is due in autumn 2025.
