Sometimes it seems like getting a degree was a huge scam. They wait until I finish my degree for the job market to be shit
If an open entry level position requires 3-5 years experience it is not, in fact, "enty level". The employer just doesn't want to pay a real wage for an experienced professional. There is more fat at the top of most companies than ever before. That is where the problem lies. All these enterprises are skipping leg day...
This is the same government that tells us 3.4% CPI
"We added 300k new burger flipper jobs! Economy is doing amazing!"
The problem with much education is that it is very general. Making money is not general. It is very specific. Most companies are started for the purpose of making money.
Tired of YouTubers taking advantage of this terrible job market to get sponsorships of courses claiming it can get you a job.
I have a masters degree in political science and criminal justice. I was told in an interview for probation and parole that I was over qualified. I drive a truck and make 73000 a yeat. Home everyday
I was told you better get a degree in something that pays or you could run into this issue
I remember being at UW and telling my resource advisor “I don’t know why I’m here, I don’t know what classes to take”. In my head thinking “this is SO much money for ‘I don’t know.’” Her response being “I’d be worried if you said you knew exactly what you wanted to do” Dropped out, got a scholarship to a nail school and got THE BEST customer service training and three years working in the largest salon/spa in WA. No debt and more experience actually working with people than most. I’ve worked myself into management, sales and now HR. Couldn’t be happier with this choice!
