It only takes a few traitors in high places to sell out an entire nation.
70% of the people did not want it? What's the meaning of 'democracy' again?
Bulgarian here. There was a procedure for gathering 600,000 signatures , required for a referendum and it WAS successful. Regardless, the parliament and the government rejected it and did not allow referendum. They said, that we, the illiterate population (almost verbatim), cannot make such an important decisions. For over 2 years there has been daily campaign in the media for how amazing the eurozone is and that it will make us richer and prosperous. Of course, nobody believes that. For the last 6 months, we have like 50% increase in prices and more to come. This is what happens when you have comprador government. Sad but true.
Same as in Croatia.. we did not want the Euro und referendums were surpressed
Now Bulgaria will have to do EVERYTHING the EU tells it to. They have no voice, no options, no hope.
So much for the voice of the people
