Shocking Superintendent Sex Assault Cover-Up Case Heats Up

Washington state school district superintendent Karen Cloninger has formally pleaded not guilty to charges of tampering with a witness, failure to report, and obstructing a law enforcement officer in connection with an alleged sexual assault cover-up involving student-athletes at Mark Morris High School. Since her arrest, the Longview School Board has voted to place her on unpaid leave, prosecutors have identified dozens of potential witnesses and police say additional charges against another district administrator are expected.
