Identify and Eliminate 10 Dangerous Synthetic Vitamins and Poor Supplement Forms

Discover the dangerous, cheap synthetic vitamins and forms of minerals lurking in common supplements that actively harm your health. Learn which specific ingredients manufacturing profits prioritize over your well-being.

Short Summary

  • Identify 10 specific chemical compounds (e.g., Folic Acid, Calcium Carbonate) proven to increase health risks like cancer, heart attack, and organ toxicity.
  • Understand why manufacturers use these inferior ingredients (profit margin) and the specific risks tied to common genetic variants (e.g., MTHFR).
  • Pivot immediately to superior, bioavailable alternatives, such as natural forms or better mineral chelate structures.

This session details ten specific ingredients—often favored for low cost—that manufacturers use in vitamins and supplements despite clear evidence of toxicity or detrimental health effects. Use this knowledge to audit your cabinet and switch to proven, natural nutrient sources.

Description

Find out about the harmful vitamins and supplements lurking in your medicine cabinet. These dangerous vitamins are not beneficial to your health, and often have the opposite effect. Do not take these vitamins! Watch these videos next to discover the best whole-food sources and supplements of key vitamins and minerals: ▶️ https://youtu.be/9rcGF8Rj9rc ▶️ https://youtu.be/r5_NvTvJBY4 ▶️ https://youtu.be/7lSQ2hnycLg 0:00 Introduction: The 10 vitamins you should never take 0:40 Synthetic vitamin A 2:00 Synthetic beta carotene 3:08 Folic acid 4:25 Synthetic B12 5:51 Calcium carbonate 7:14 Iron 8:36 Magnesium oxide 9:33 Synthetic vitamin D (D2) 10:42 Omega-6 fat (Linoleic acid) 11:36 Copper Synthetic vitamins are often cheap and create a huge profit margin for the manufacturer. Most big vitamin companies are owned by Big Pharma and big chemical companies. Never take synthetic vitamin A! It can build up in the liver and fat cells and even cause a birth defect if it occurs during pregnancy. Synthetic vitamin A can also interfere with vitamin D and K2, increasing the risk of fractures. Beta carotene is not the same as vitamin A's active form. Synthetic beta carotene, made from coal tar and petroleum, can increase the risk of certain cancers. Folic acid is different from folate, the natural form of vitamin B9. Around 30% to 40% of the world's population has an alteration of the MTHFR gene, which interferes with their ability to turn folic acid into folate, causing it to build up in the blood. This can lead to an increased risk of cancer and a suppressed immune system. Synthetic B12, or cyanocobalamine, requires glutathione to convert to the active form methylcobalamine. Consuming large amounts of synthetic B12 depletes you of this vital antioxidant. Calcium carbonate is the main ingredient in many popular multivitamins. It can build up in the arteries and kidneys and increase your risk of a heart attack. Too much iron can increase your risk of type 2 diabetes, liver issues, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s. Many iron supplements contain ferrous sulfate, a damaging, poor-quality source of iron. Magnesium oxide is a cheap, poorly-absorbed form of magnesium that frequently causes diarrhea. Choose magnesium glycinate for significantly better absorption, better sleep, lower cortisol, and more overall benefits. Synthetic vitamin D is called ergocalciferol and is made by exposing fungus or yeast to UV radiation. Vitamin D2 is not nearly as beneficial as vitamin D3, yet it’s the most prescribed. Don’t consume supplements with added omega-6 fat, often in the form of linoleic acid. Too much omega-6 fat increases inflammation. We need copper, but high amounts of cheap copper can be toxic. Ensure you consume copper with other trace minerals in the proper ratios, especially zinc! The more I learn about nutrition, the more I think it boils down to eat as balanced and naturally as possible while staying clear of anything artificial as much as possible. It's a shame the best stuff for us tends to be the most expensive, and in such an economy on top of that. Then there's all the other numerous issues to consider like being bathed in radiation everywhere from electronics, among other things. It doesn't take long for an individual looking into this stuff to just throw their hands up in defeat because there's so much to address. It does seem like the world is out to kill you either through intend or ignorance, and that includes ourselves.

10 vitamins and minerals you should never take and the reasons why: 1. **Synthetic Vitamin A (Retinol Palmitate/Acetate):** It builds up in the liver and fat cells, becoming toxic. This can lead to birth defects, interfere with vitamins D and K2, and increase the risk of bone fractures. When used in skin products, it can become carcinogenic upon exposure to UV light. 2. **Synthetic Beta-Carotene:** Made from petroleum, studies have shown it can increase the risk of lung cancer in smokers. Unlike the natural version, the synthetic form can activate cancer in vulnerable individuals. 3. **Folic Acid (Synthetic B9):** A large percentage of the population has a genetic issue (MTHFR) that prevents them from converting folic acid into its usable form, folate. This leads to a buildup of folic acid in the blood, which can increase cancer risk and suppress the immune system. 4. **Synthetic B12 (Cyanocobalamin):** This form contains a small amount of cyanide and is not as bioavailable as the natural version. The conversion process depletes the body's primary antioxidant, glutathione, and can be toxic for those with poor detoxification pathways. 5. **Calcium Carbonate:** This is essentially rock and can build up in arteries and kidneys. More importantly, it has been linked to an increased risk of heart attacks and can disrupt the body's critical calcium-to-magnesium ratio, leading to magnesium deficiency. 6. **Iron (Ferrous Sulfate):** The body has no efficient mechanism to eliminate excess iron, which can be corrosive and dangerous. Too much iron increases the risk for type 2 diabetes, liver problems, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's. Ferrous sulfate is a particularly harsh, rust-like form. 7. **Magnesium Oxide:** This is a cheap, poorly absorbed form (only about 3% absorption). Attempting to take more to compensate for the low absorption rate leads to diarrhea, which flushes out other essential electrolytes. 8. **Synthetic Vitamin D (Ergocalciferol/D2):** Created by irradiating fungus, it is less potent and less efficiently converted and transported in the body compared to natural Vitamin D3. It does not provide the same level of benefit. 9. **Omega-6 Fats (Linoleic Acid):** Most people already consume far too much omega-6, which is pro-inflammatory. The ideal ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is 1:1, but the average person's is 25:1. Adding more through supplements is detrimental. 10. **Copper (in the wrong form/ratio):** Too much copper, especially without the proper 10:1 zinc-to-copper ratio, can become toxic. It can cause oxidation, inflammation in the brain, and contribute to amyloid plaquing associated with Alzheimer's disease.

As a chemist I have another interesting fact to add. I see this is natural fabric dyes (I'm sewing garments as a hobby and I'm researching natual fabric dyes as another hobby). When you compare a fabric natural dye molecule (like Indigotin - for blue. It comes from various plants, like Indigofera Tinctoria), to it's synthetic form. Both molecules are the same. If you wet both separetly (few drops of water). One will rot in a few days, other will not. The natutal Indigotin rots (becomes moldy), while the syntheyic Indigotin acts like plastic. Doesn't rot, doesn't change.
