That was an absolutely amazing program 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I could listen to Jaques Baud all day. His knowledge and experience is mind blowing. Thank you Alexander and Alex. And special thanks to Jaques Baud ❤
Wonderful conversation. Merci Jacques Baud. Your story of 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers defecting to the Russians in Crimea reminded me of a story in my Czech husband's family. His grandfather was conscripted into the Austro-Hungarian side in WW1 in 1915. His unit was sent to fight on the Eastern front, where they promptly mutined and defected to the Soviet side. The soldiers were allocated according to their skills, and his grandfather, as a university educated mechanical engineer was sent to work in ship yards where he spent the rest of the war years, rising to take charge in the yard where he was last posted. In 1919, he returned home to Czechoslovkia, to his wife and young son, my husband's father, and carried on with his academic career, becoming a professor of engineering. It's sad to see the Czech prime minister today adopting such an extreme anti-Russian stance as Czechs have always understood that they and Russians are Slavs and brothers.

Thanks so much Alex & Alexander for having the great man Jaques on tonight. A dose of sanity from Europe gives one hope.
What a surprise to hear jacques Baud talking in english, I use to listen to him in french and swiss médias.
Indeed, the confession that Mr Jacques Baud follows the Duran daily, must be seen as a really fine compliment in favour of your podcasts.
