I am pretty skeptical of this type of stuff. But I gave it try today...and it worked! After reciting the 1st three phrases repeatedly during my commute today, I came into work and my coworker walked in to greet me. I told her I was hungry because I was doing a liquid diet today, due to my colonoscopy tomorrow. So I can't eat solid food all day...and was already hungry. She offered to walk me to Starbucks purchase me a Medicine Ball tea. How thoughtful! And on top of that...Starbucks gave it to us for free, since I was a newcomer. How about that?!
I had such an amazing experience over the weekend and had to share....I listened to this episode of Friday. And I was so touched, I actually printed out the 8 phrases and put it on my nightstand. I've been reading and saying it the last 2 days. So yesterday, my husband and I went to a cute downtown area that we frequent often. We were sitting outside and enjoying a drink when a woman and her son sat at the seats in front of us. You could see that this woman was keeping it together and that her son was a handful. She looked over and asked me what my drink was, it was an Aperol Spritz. My husband asked her if she wanted to try one and then went and purchased one for her. I didn't think much more of it. Then a little boy came over and asked her son to play, and the mother said that he was non verbal. I immediately knew that this woman was there for a reason. My sister is non verbal, autistic and 44 years old. Her boy, Evon was 7. Once she said this, I told her about my sister and we chatted a bit more while we had our drink. I said to my husband, wow, this was the cool thing that happened to me today. We got up to leave, and I asked for her phone number. She gave it to me and then made a comment about people who don't understand, and she said "Let Them." I immediately thought, wow, that's Mel Robbins new book. Then she said, Mel Robbins, that's what she says to do. I immediately teared up and told her the story about the podcast and the 8 things. It was amazing! She said it changed her life and I shared how the High 5 Habit changed mine. Just such a great experience and I felt like I had to share. I hope to keep in touch with Jasmine + her son. What a joy!
I normally don't make comments, but I have to share. This morning I was worried about getting a new tire for my car since my credit card was almost to the limit. So I said that I am going to have a Great Day. Got a Great discount on my. Then my tire became flat overnight. I had no one to help me. I told myself that No Matter what Happens To Me, I Can Handle It. To make a long story short, A Complete Stranger changed my tire putting on my spare tire,in the heat, asking for nothing, but to keep him in my prayers. Which I did and I got him some water. I have to listen to this podcast daily. Thank you Mel for all of your Awesome podcasts. ❤️😘🙏🏾
Since my son was little I'd ask him: "Who's gonna have a great day"? And he'd answer: "me"! And great includes sad and happy moments. The greatness comes from wholeness.
“I need to give myself more credit for how hard I’m trying.” I NEEDED TO HEAR THIS TODAY!!!!!
“I just had to tell you—while I was on a flight recently, I was reading your book, and I can’t even count how many people stopped to tell me that your words changed their life. And I couldn’t agree more. Your book has changed my life in a million little ways. Right now, because of your words, I’m showing up—more present, more aware, and more myself. Thank you.”
“Effort counts even when the results aren’t coming as fast as you would like them to” wow. What an amazing reminder.
“I am allowed to be a work in progress” was exactly what I needed to hear ❤🙏
