Tara Erickson and Aaron Alexander dive into Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003), the first half of the legendary kung fu revenge saga that blends martial arts spectacle, grindhouse energy, and anime-inspired sequences into one of cinema’s most iconic films. Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs), the film stars Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Batman & Robin) as The Bride / Beatrix Kiddo, a former assassin who awakens from a four-year coma and sets out on a bloody quest for vengeance against her former colleagues in the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad. The cast includes Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill Vol. 2) as O-Ren Ishii, the Yakuza leader whose epic duel with The Bride in the snowy garden has become one of the most famous sword fights in cinema history; Vivica A. Fox (Independence Day, Set It Off) as Vernita Green; Daryl Hannah (Blade Runner, Splash) as the ruthless Elle Driver; and Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Donnie Brasco) as Budd. The film also stars David Carradine (Kung Fu, Bound for Glory) as the mysterious Bill, whose shadow looms over the entire narrative. From the unforgettable “Crazy 88” showdown at the House of Blue Leaves to the stylish black-and-white anime origin of O-Ren Ishii, Kill Bill Vol. 1 is loaded with legendary sequences, hyper-stylized violence, and Tarantino’s trademark genre-mashing storytelling. As The Bride crosses the first names off her death list, the stage is set for even bloodier confrontations in Vol. 2. #KillBill #QuentinTarantino #UmaThurman #KillBillVol1 #HouseOfBlueLeaves #Crazy88 #MartialArts #KungFu #MovieReaction #FilmReview #TaraErickson #AaronAlexander #KungFu #KungFuMovie #KungFuMovies #Movie #Movies #React #ReactTo #Reaction #TheWholeBloodyAffair Django Unchained (2012) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/u3o46-iFzkY From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/5Z1NT6MqNCY The Shawshank Redemption (1994) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/1rlS7laACKQ Who Framed Roger Rabbit? The way our entire theater ERUPTED at that last line in 2003, and we had to wait 6 months for part II...

Fun Fact: From the moment O-Ren says "You may not last 5 minutes" until her death, 4 minutes and 59 seconds pass.

I just wanna point out that O-Ren's apology to The Bride is layered. She underestimated her based on her race and heritage, which is the exact thing she's the most insecure about, and based on the looks on both of their faces, we can assume The Bride likely got underestimated due to that her whole career and O-Ren probably knew that, and vice versa. It very well could've been a struggle they once upon a time bonded over.

This movie marked the start of the collaboration between Quentin Tarantino and the toughest stuntwoman in the Business... Zoe Bell.

Uma had gotten pregnant when they started filming for this. They filmed what they could before she started to show, then halted production, and then she had to train like hell after birth. She must be super human, because damn girl, She is amazingly fit in this film.

Fun fact, when they were discussing how to do the shot where she runs up the handrail of the stairs while fighting the crazy 88, the stunt double just did it in front of them. Tarantino's response was"that was amazing. Don't you ever do that again." For the actual shot she had safety wires on

Guys, from 1:00:30 to 1:02:01 is comedy gold. Aaron just lets Tara cook....the wrong meal. She theorizes that The Bride might have to fight her daughter in Vol.2. Aaron (knowing Tara doesn't realize the daughter is only 4 yrs old) sits back and lets her put her whole foot in her mouth, then reveals it. LOL!
