Didn’t want this episode to end. Please have him back
Everyone loves Chuck for obvious reasons, but Gary is so underrated. He’s so smart and thoughtful, he’s great at testing to keep the conversations on track, and he puts in all the work to make these special editions successful. I see you, Gary!
This interview was so good. Have him back as a guest later on, please.
The internet has become a corporate cesspit of advertising. I wouldn’t even describe it as the “Internet” anymore.
Two years ago, I was struggling with severe anxiety, and my therapist suggested that I limit my social media and online activity. I did, and it helped more than I expected. Eventually, I deleted all of my social media accounts except YouTube, mainly because I genuinely value the educational content I find here. I can honestly say that my mental health improved dramatically. The change was so significant that I was eventually able to stop taking antidepressant and antianxiety medication altogether. I know deleting social media isn’t the right solution for everyone, but for me, it made a huge difference in my life.
Please bring him back. And just let him talk, about whatever he wants to talk about. No structure needed. Having the opportunity to hear what concerns/invigorates someone of this rare caliber is seriously fascinating. I don’t want his answers clipped. Let the man be long winded!
''Stop believing in AI and start believing in human collaboration'' is now my new motto. Great conversation!
12:17 I couldn't help myself. He's referring to Joanna Stern from the WSJ trying the Metaverse. There's a video here on Youtube called "I Spent 24 Hours Trapped in the Metaverse | WSJ" for those who are interested.
This guy is a perfect communicator. Not stuffy. Not rage bait emotional attention drama speak. Just wall to wall creative smart. This is a rare human being. I'd love to sit at a table with this guy an his friends.
This should be a weekly interview with Jaron Lanier. Thank you.
