Description

This video essay analyzes the way Beef Season 2 conveys relationships. Relationships change over time, no two people stay the same so no relationship stays the same either. But Beef finds clever ways of conveying these problems by comparing two couples working in the same country club, fifteen years apart. Austin and Ashley may think their relationship is perfect but that's because it's only beginning. Lindsey and Josh have been through so many ups and downs that their relationship is more established, for better and worse. Beef (owned by Netflix) displays different types of relationships and how they handle pressure. Should these couples stay together when facing money problems, when their loyalty is tested, or when their traumas resurface again and again? This video investigates what relationships are and why we are so drawn to them, despite the risk involved. You really showed the downside of awareness. There is a tipping point where being so consciously aware of everything 'wrong' with your partner destroys the actual leap of faith that must be paid for true commitment.

Started off slow but I'm glad I sticked with it. It's not as fun as season 1 but its exploration on relationships I found it pretty profound and layered.

Benson Boone was such an interesting character, he was like, more in love with being useful to anyone, than loving somebody specifically

I can't be the only one that finds Cailee Spaeny looking like Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) from YOU.

It’s kinda funny that the couple that didn’t stay together came out much stronger and realized they truly loved each other. And the couple that stayed together had a fractured relationship that looked good on the surface but wasn’t built on love but fear of abandonment.

Dude I binged the entire season in one day. The show explored things that my post-break up brain is thinking about a lot these days
