My wise aunt of 100 years old told me it’s none of your business what other people think of you! It only matters what you feel in your heart about yourself that will carry you through life through good times and bad!
I don’t want to be liked, I just want to be left alone. I don’t want to be forced to fit in to societal norms that are already flawed. I’m not going to gossip to make friends or drink to have fun. I say hello when I see you and it’s not personal the times I don’t. It’s really that simple for me ❤
Do you like these types of convos? If so please hit the like button on the vid - that’s the best way to vote for more like this ❤ also, would be doing me a big favour if you could subscribe - its free 🙏🏾appreciate you! - SB
To expect that a boss simply recognizes you are "awesome" and "naturally" gives you a raise, is the most naïve thing to hear about the corporate jungle.
In no circumstances have i ever seen or heard of an employer 'seeing' the hard work and just 'giving' out of the kindness of their heart. 90% of the time, hard work and skill gets one more work...
TL,DR: - Prepare topics briefly before conversations to reduce anxiety and improve flow. - Ask more questions, especially follow-ups, to show interest and deepen connection. - Use validation and receptiveness to handle disagreements constructively. - Incorporate levity and warmth to keep conversations engaging and enjoyable. - Be mindful of kindness by using respectful language and managing your energy. - Practice reframing nervousness as excitement to improve performance in high-pressure talks. - Develop self-awareness of how you come across and adjust accordingly. - Leverage conversation for building trust over time rather than expecting instant persuasion. - Navigate the digital age by maintaining authenticity and prioritizing real human connection.
RE: ending convos. I've learned to say, "I've enjoyed this conversation" or "It was nice to see you" and it has helped prevent overstaying in a convo & reduce the awkwardness of ending it.
When in doubt, default to curiosity! Never fails.
I don’t like it when ppl think they know who you are just by looking at you!
Being misunderstood is what trips me up. Also, being interrupted.
