Love Michael but she has actually said it’s called opalite because she can admit that sometimes happiness is man made and that Travis Kelce (a man) has made her happy. This song actually represents a big win for family values this album repeatedly hits the theme of “actually I want to be happy with a man and get married and have kids with him that are just like him “
I'm not a Swiftie, but this is a very cute video.
Michael almost gets it, he's on the right track, but he veers off course at the end when he reaches the conclusion. She's not saying that the natural is bad. She's saying that the man made can be good. You can make your own happiness if you get our of your own way and allow it to happen.
3:12 i find it funny that the lyrics said “she was on her phone” while Michael’s on his phone xD
“She was in her phone” whilst he’s on the phone during a reaction video!
It appears you already knew what you were going to say before you even watched it. If you are going to critique someone's work, at least show the respect of paying attention and not being on your phone for half the video. And watch all the way to the end, not until you just lose your attention span.
This song has nothing to do with liberal propaganda. It was literally written about how no matter how hard she tried to make love work, it never did. Not until she met Travis. The second verse is about how he struggled with the same issue. You missed the whole part of the video where the main male lead was with a cactus, and at first he’s happy, but as the segment progresses he become more and injured, meant to signify being in a relationship with someone who constantly hurts you, like we believe Travis was. Also the reason the song was called Opalite is because opal is Travis birthstone. In all, the song represents that you don’t have to sit and wait for happiness to find you, you absolutely CAN go and seek it.
She talks about the meaning behind the song. Opal are associated with luck. Opalite being a sort of man made shows inner strength. Not waiting around for luck to happen, but to take it upon one’s shelf to put in the effort to make it happen. I believe in God, and am very spiritual, and see nothing wrong with sending a message to people to get up and make of their life what they want instead of waiting for it to happen. Not all her song have the best meaning behind them, but I just don’t see this as one. In the video we also see “lonely girl” and “lonely guy” get out of bad relationships for healthier ones. You complain when she isn’t finding a good healthy relationship to be in, and now complain when she sings about finally wanting to settle down and have a traditional marriage.
You reviewed this without actually watching. Negative just to be negative. But you know, at least you got some revenue from the advertisements on your post… ;)
You better than this, Michael
