6:10 "she hasn't broke the restraining order since the last time but the gifts keep coming." Dude that is breaking the RO
Story 1: See the issue here isn’t even that Op’s mom is/was an adult star. The issue is that she parentified Op, never showed him love, completely abandoned him and overall was just a terrible mother… Soooo i don’t get why Op would want to establish a relationship with her…
the cat story is litteraly 90% of dads that said they didnt want a cat. op's cousin is exactly doing that, "insulting" the cats to pretend he doesnt care and then being all cutesy when no one looks. this is such a wholesome post XD my dad did this with all our cats. The last story, tbh i have never heard in any country i lived in of handing a resignation letter by hand. you either send it via email nowadays or letter (tracked and or signed upon delivery) to make it official. not that there's any issue most of the time but on the off chance there would be.
The audacity of second OP’s ex, breaking up with him, refusing to be civil and pleasant, but still expecting him to be her personal chauffeur. She’s a big girl, she can figure out her own transportation, OP doesn’t owe a nasty person like her anything.
The cat story restored my faith in humanity
Military kid here. When my father was up for promotion as lieutenant colonel, the military bugged our house and interviewed members of his family for weeks. You would like to think that your family members couldn’t impact your ability to rise in the military, but it absolutely does. They’re looking for potential liabilities. They’re looking for criminal records, thieves, warrants, addicts, anything unscrupulous that might cause problems. In OP’s case, having a rather famous mom who is constantly breaking a restraining order and taking him to court would be a red flag they would catch pretty fast. In short, it’s something they don’t want to have to deal with down the line.
Story 1: it’s weird how people are calling Op harsh for not supporting his mother but they seem to forget that Ops mom ghosted Op for nearly a decade.
On the last story - believe it or not, photo of you handing your boss a resignation letter or quitting note is standard practice back in my homeland (or at least it was back when I was living there). The reason for this is that there is a law that supposed to protect people from getting scammed out of working hours. Because by law you can only have 1 fulltime job, some bosses would tie-down their employees by refusing to acknowledge their resignation, so that when their new employer would contact them for recommendation they'd go "What are you on about? They are happily working here" and people would either be denied position or get in trouble with ministry of labor. So it became common practice to take photo when handing resignation notices, so that in case you're visited by labor agent you can show the pic and say "See, I've handed my resignation notice a while ago, I'm not working there anymore".
Cat story: my grandpa was like that. More extreme tho. He claimed he “hated those damn mongrels”. That they were messy and in the way. Once I was sitting on the couch in the living room and being dead quiet. He was in the kitchen and got up to go to the fridge. I had to do a double take because he started talking in a voice I didn’t recognize from him. It was sweet and light. “Hey buddy, come here” to the dog. The dog approached him. “I bet you’re hungry, huh?” He proceeded to open a fresh pack of lunch meat and feed it to the dog. My mind was completely blown.
13:48 he's like the dad who didn't want the cat but loves him the most 😂😂
