I was raised in a Greek American home and with those values. The mother took care of the children, managed everyone, made the husband's life easier, and family always came first. When I was younger I was ridiculed for these values by college friends. They laughed because I didn't drink, go out and party, and was faithful to a long term boyfriend who was not at the same university. Well that boyfriend is now my husband. 22 years together, 15 years married with 2 beautiful teenagers. I pride myself on making his life easier, I work to help support our family, and I had 7 wonderful years being a stay at home mom. Those "friends" from college aren't doing so well. 1 is a single mom who never married. The other has a terrible drug problem and I haven't heard anything about her in awhile. I have definitely had the greatest outcome in life. And it all started with meeting a wonderful young man and building a strong relationship based on love, trust, and wanting to support eachother.
