Thanks for continuing to post content _for free_ on YouTube. I really appreciate the summary of the history and state of play of physics which is accessible to the lay person. Mere words are insufficient to express my gratitude for access to conversations like this!
If I could have a conversation with anyone, it would be these two. My unending gratitude to Dr. Greene and Maudlin, with WSF team, for such great content!
Greene discusses physics with Tim Maudlin. The internet has redeemed itself.
Again so much credit to Prof. Greene, this talk especially gave me the feeling that also none of these questions are scripted.. these interviews are so incredible well talked and discussed this is going to be a historic series
One of the best WSF I've seen in a while. I could listen to Maudlin for hours. Great video!
1:11:40 The clarity and cogency implied by his enumeration of three mutually incompatible principles and how each of the major approaches gives up on one of them is so overwhelming, I could cry. Tim Maudlin has my deepest respect for his apparently encyclopedic knowledge about the history of physics and how he is on top of the theories to such a high level that he is able to sharpen the arguments to such a degree of clarity. Truly marvellous and I am grateful that this channel allowed me to learn from him. Brian Greene also has his head screwed on properly like few of modern physicists do.
I find Brian Greene extraordinarily courteous.
When Professor Maudlin is in a video I watch it directly. And everytime I understand another 0.001% of what he is saying
it's mind blowing that "is it even a theory" took this long to be asked and answered.
5:33 "...but I don't want to [Bohr] you with that" missed pun opportunity
