Shawn I take my hat off to you for allowing that man the space to explore and experience what he was feeling. The silence was deafening but so needed in this case. This interview was incredibly interesting. Your style of interviewing is such a pleasure to watch. I’m sure there’s many of us from Ireland that watch you. I’m a 52 year old who grew up during the “troubles” and I’m sure there’s many of us that watch your show feel somewhat fractured by our experiences. We are still here but fighting a different battle today. Thank you. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 😊
To all the vets watching this Thank you❤️❤️❤️ vets should be helped with everything , I totally respect them so should everybody walking free❤️👍🇨🇦🙏
Really love the way hes able to explain and express just the mental battles delt in the hands of trauma
My dad was in combat in Korea. Decorated for bravery under fire, wounded, then told that he couldn't re-enlist because his sugar was too high. Diabetes took him at 39. I was 15. He was tough on me but fair. I learned early that he didn't repeat himself. Act on the first command and life was good. I'm now 71 and still miss him every day. He had his demons but kept them pretty much buried and died with more dignity than anyone else I've ever know. I've always regretted not serving in the military. Done a bunch of stuff to try to prove to myself that I could have measured up but it isn't the same. Skydiving, rock climbing, shooting instructor, EMT but I can't hold a candle to the 'Old man'. Semper Fi dad.
My dad passed away in 2020. I had just lost my dog, my uncle, then my dad, so I was in a deep depression (still am to be honest). No one was there for me when he died, not a single person, and I became very bitter and just stopped talking to everyone. A couple years later in 2022 I had been thinking about a friend of mine named Otto. Otto was a really good friend of mine for several years and was there for me when my grandpa died in 2014, but we hadn't talked since my dad died. I thought about stopping by Otto's house one day to see what he was up to, but for whatever reason I didn't. A few days later I had a dream about him. In the dream he said "I'm here with your dad and we are both laughing our asses off". I woke up really confused. A few weeks later my friend got a hold of me and asked me if I knew that Otto had passed away. I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure he died the night I had the dream about him saying he was with my dad. Both of them were hilarious people and had a great sense of humor, so I could see Otto and my dad getting along just great. There's definitely something more out there.
Strength resides in all of us. Thank you for the video.
So sorry to hear how your dads let you down and didn't communicate how proud they were of you, and how much you deserved to be loved. Congrats on breaking the pattern and becoming the men anyone would be proud to have as a dad.
There is way more going on in this reality than we can explain or understand. So glad to see the expansion of these men's minds. This is what it will take for society to level up. Trauma has it's purpose.
Know that the struggle is real, stay strong; you got this 💪. The people praise your service and sacrifice.
Yip and men bury that down so deep the dont know what it is when has fully manifested! The struggle is real! Keep up the good work SRC! Excellent Content you are producing!❤
