I stared at BMW and you get that strange feeling it’s staring at you back. 😂
I can only speak for BMW, more so the N57 engine. These are know for timing chain issues, but that was mainly down to BMW recommending oil changes every 12k or 13k miles which was way too long an interval. Many follwed this and boom, the timing chains went. I have the BMW 640d Gran coupe M sport (3.0 straight 6 twin turbo, 465lb torque and 313 hp). I know they weren't available in Canada, but bought mine used in January with full service history and only 2 owners. I will service every 5k miles and hope for the best haha.
The indie shop charged 6700 for the oil gasket and coolant pipe for the 545i
My e63 AMG is like a hot high maintenance girlfriend however it’s much easier to get rid of the girlfriend
Well, Mercedes ML 350d has quite reliable v6 diesel engine for today's standarts. Om642 is well known of doing over 700-800k km without serious issues. Yes, they have their flaws, but it's reliable engine overall.
Only real ones knew that whole 10k mile - 15k mile oil change intervals were complete BS.
😂 My son was delivering parts while in college. He came across a S6 for sale at one of the repair shops. We took the car for a long ride and then plugged into the OBDII. There were 18 different codes. Some were repetitive and some were new. He still wanted it, saying I knew how to repair all of it and it would be a great experience. He'd even let me drive it. I was laughing inside, remembering how easy it was to justify any car at that age. He mentions it once in a while. Woulda coulda shoulda, absolutely not.
This particular list reminds me of how much I'd pick an early 2000s Jaguar S-Type over any one of these any time as well as the classic Mercedes cars that Pierre Hedary talks about on his YouTube channel. This video also reminds me of what all helped me for my own opinion about the very inferior Jaguar X-Type, that even that one is not all that bad but not all that good, even despite how M any channels that listed it in the top 5 worst luxury cars of all time.
