Do do you think the Brotherhood used to live in a normal, nice house and then when mystique dipped, it ended up looking like a crack house as a side effect of five teenagers living with no supervision.
Arcade assuming his classmates just have a video game with each of them where they have superpowers makes sense tbh bc it’s for sure something he would do
As someone who's not that overly familiar with the X-Men it's so fun to get little random fun facts about the comics and what's changed for the show :D
Personally, I love that X-Men: Evolution is forced to ask "What stories do you tell with these characters outside of the mutant metaphor?" because the comics have plenty of those, like Dark Phoenix, The Brood, anything with Arcade, and literally anything from the 60s
I think the plan was to be honest with Arcade, but the second he said ‘game’, the X-Men went “Sure, we’ll go with that”.
I like to think this version of Arcade goes on to be unhealthily inspired by the Danger Room and goes on to make Murder Worlds in a desire to regain that Danger Room Rush.
I totally forgot that this show had Arcade show up, albeit as a nerdy computer kid but I guess that makes sense based on the shows premise of the X-Men being teenagers. I really enjoy Boom Booms character in this show too as even though they couldn't directly tackle the domestic abuse she experienced from her dad, they can at least showcase that her father is still a dirtbag thief that uses his daughters powers selfishly.
Scott and Jean going through all that trouble with his car only for it to be immediately blown up is so funny, especially cause it came right after the episode that spotlighted an ammunitions expert.
The scene at 3:28 reminds me of one of my absolute favorite details in this show: When Kurt wears the holographic projector, they animate his hands differently than everyone else because he still only has 3 fingers. So his disguised self keeps his pointer and middle fingers together, and his ring and pinky fingers together
Arcade turned the sometimes danger room to the always danger room
