Correction: Neil meant to say that, if 2024 YR4 hits Earth, it would do so on Dec. 22nd, 2032—not January.

What amazes me most is not that it might hit us, but that we found it in the great vastness our skies and it's still 7 years away!

He forgot to mention that Bruce Willis won't save us this time. And that Aerosmith still doesn't want to miss a thing.

This is what I want YouTube to be. Right topics, right resource, right length to learn or better understand something. Thank you Neil.

As scary as this astroid may seem, I think it would be hella cool witnessing a brand new crater! What a time to be alive!

The first thing I did when I heard about this was asking an astronomer friend of mine. Luckily I understand the bit of science to knew that, given the size, its devastation would be very localized and, if it hits, any probability of damage would be if it were to fall in a populated area. There is power in knowledge! And for this I'm always grateful of you for your work, and to the rest of the scientific community
