Cig is by far the number 1 coach in CFB IU was the doormat of CFB now their the current undefeated national champions in only 2 seasons of him being at the helm

4:45.... As a husker fan it pains me to say it, but Kirk ferentz is a top five Big ten head coach. He may not have many conference titles, but there's a reason he's the longest tenured head coach in college football. He wins, doing it the same way since when he first got there.

To evaluate coaching caliber, the two most salient considerations are: (1) five-year rolling average recruiting rankings for both high schoolers and transfers, and (2) win-loss records against the spread. On the first point, a truly good coach does more with less on the field; boosters are the ones who truly deserve the lion's share of credit for recruiting classes, as a coaching staff's relational legwork is meaningless without the money needed to buy prospects. On the second point, onfield exploits must account for strength of schedule—doing more with less means less with lesser opponents.
