This movie is criminally overlooked, and this is Tom Hardy's best performance imo
Tommy was tired of everyone saying sorry. His dad, his brother & all he truly needed was to hear them say "I love you".
The personal relationships in this film blow everything else in it out of the water. The hotel room scene kills me every time
If you're not bawling your eyes out by the end of this movie, you're not human.
The fathers raspy broken voice is so perfect for this role. That relapse scene gives me chills every single time.
Nick Nolte was the absolute heart of this film and his performance was incredible
All 3 leads are excellent in this movie...... But my God, what a performance by Nick Nolte!!!
“You don’t knock him out. You don’t have a home” never has there been a more powerful line before a final round
The dad is alcoholic because his a vet with PTSD, trauma and anger that's why in the hotel scene when his dad drunk again there he fully understand what his dad experience and why he is like that back then coz its also what he experience in the war that mess him up.
Almost fifteen years on and I am STILL mad Nick Nolte didn't get an oscar for this movie
