I worked for new car manufacturers for nearly 40 years. I think it was 2008. The dealers were getting letters from the banks and lenders that allowed them to purchase cars from us. There was a big scare ! The dealers were told they needed to find a new lender for new cars. Our company (the car manufacturer) extended credit to our dealers to keep us and dealers in business. Fortunately, over time the credit FREEZE in the market returned to normal but it was a perfect example of what Bill Holter was talking about when credit freezes up. It’s happened before and it was scary but will happen on a larger scale in the future. It could shut EVERYTHING down.
