Dropping torpedoes with a Swordfish biplane against the Bismarck? Those men had balls of steel 😲
Ahhh, now this is something worth going to sleep to 😆
The intensity of those dogfights really shows how much skill and instinct the pilots had to rely on, where a single split-second decision could mean life or death.
Everyday before I sleep, I use to watch videos related to planes and tanks and naval battles. Now I say, who needs sleeping pills when we have documentaries.
Swordfish in WW2? I had no idea they were still commissioned... absolutely the craziest airmen of all time-
The Swordfish was able to do so well against the Bismarck because the AA was director controlled and the gunnery computer could not input numbers as slow as the Swordfish was when loaded. Sadly, the Germans had changed their AA gunnery computer to work at the low speeds of a loaded Swordfish when the Channel Dash happened.
Heavy duty stuff
Samuel B Roberts this is incredible bravery, to face off a battleship with tiny destroyers. This saved the carriers with bold acton by the Captains. Absolute suicide. Like a little chijuaha attacking a bull mastiff retlentlessly until killed. This caused the Japanese commander confusion and he retreated. These guys literelly saved thousands, thats why they go a Presidential unit citation. True bravery.
We treasure our pilots lives, that's why we build tough aircraft. God bless America 🇺🇸🙏
The History Channel at its peak could never be beat!
