Description

Karen Read is in court twice this week, Tuesday 3-18 and Thursday 3-20. Today I am covering breaking news that Trooper Michael Proctor has been fired and Karen Reads latest interviews. The Court noted yesterday that 'recent publicity' may make jury selection difficult. I've been to 34 Fairview and that yard is SO small. There is no way 11 people missed a body on the lawn. Absolutely no way.

Massachusetts has gained one point for actually firing Proctor. They’re still in the negative numbers though.

Proctor's wife doesn't believe in professional integrity, ethics, personal accountability, or moral decency... apparently. Girl, he's _your_ husband and he's talking about other women that way. You're raising kids with that. So sick of the "boys will be boys" type nonsense. John deserved a real investigation by real investigators, who actually gave a ship and knew how to do their job. 🥤 Step away from the Kool-aid, Mrs. Proctor.

It's astounding that they all clearly remember "I hit him, I hit him, I hit him!" None of them can remember anything else.

BALLOON KNOT was all I needed to hear to make a judgement on Proctor and his character

Is the meticulous and thorough investigation in the room with us? 👀

Wouldn't it be great if Procter came out and blew the whistle about all his corruption? It's not like he's got a job to protect. Wishful thinking

Your comments about people in this not feeling "excited" about this going back to trial rang really true for me. I'm so invested in this case. I can't stop watching but it really makes me sick to my stomach to see what is going on. Karen Read could be anyone and it's really heartbreaking to see.

This whole "investigation," gathering of evidence, and witness statements are all trash 🗑. That alone would be enough for me to acquit 🤷🏾‍♀️

Michigan attorney here—in Michigan, Proctor could face criminal charges for obstruction of justice, neglect of duty, and perhaps tampering with evidence. There might be other potential charges but these are the ones that come to mind. I don’t know what potential charges exist under Massachusetts laws, but I imagine they have similar statutes. Yes, he could claim the protections of the 5th Amendment. That is a complicated issue that the court and attorneys would have to sort out, maybe on a question by question basis. His former testimony may be admissible in that he would be unavailable if he claims the 5th. The attorneys would have to fight that issue out, especially in light of the new information about his firing.
