The CEOs of Starbucks and McDonald's are competing to see who is less connected with their clients.
Last thing an overworked barista needs is someone trying to make a personal connection with them.
I'm sure the baristas are THRILLED their CEO is encouraging people to flirt with them while they're just trying to make minimum wage and go home.
all i’m hearing is…. “the drive thru should have cheaper prices since customers aren’t taking advantage of the premium experience inside of the store”
I was a Starbucks barista for 4 years, from 2021 to 2025. Everything got worse when Brian Niccol became CEO. He's the one who banned us from giving WATER to people for free. He also banned letting people use the restroom or even SIT IN THE CAFETERIA without buying something. He implemented new rules that we had to ask people to leave if they weren't going to buy anything, and all Starbucks baristas are now forced to write generic notes on every. Single. Cup. And in the midst of all of that, we were being pushed harder and harder to be inhumanely fast. It was awful.
I’m a barista for the siren and I’m letting yall know now, you can’t even imagine the absolute CRUSHING PRESSURE that has been put on us since this CEO. Baristas are being written up, final warnings, or even FIRED for not writing on cups, not handing off to customers properly, forgetting a NAMETAG, wearing a bracelet, and more. And management is being written up and fired left, right and center for drive-thru times being over 75 SECONDS IM NOT JOKING, ANY unavailable inventory, or any even staffing issues even though it is absolutely not their fault that employees are incredibly overworked, underpaid and consistently understaffed. A week ago I had 32 DRINKS in the que and was yelled at for not dropping everything to write on EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE 32 DRINKS. It is insane.
Minimum wage is less than a cup of Starbucks coffee now.
as a barista it’s ALLLLLL bs. Every single new update we get at the company is “focus on connections” “focus on giving customers perfect and personal experiences” THEY DONT CARE! You know what my customers want? Their orders done correctly and quickly, obviously me being nice is preferable too but not what they come for. CEOs would know that if they ever actually worked a day in their lives in the real world instead of virtually through their penthouses and palaces but no. CEOs are so painfully out of touch bc of the wealth gap in America that their brains don’t even function like humans anymore. If we were like any other country and CEOs didn’t make 1,000,000x what regular people make maybe things could start to change.
$9 for a coffee is fking insane. Only an out of touch asshole that has access to private jets and lives in penthouses and mansions would think that's "affordable".
6:44 so do I get a discount if I go through the Drive Thru since I’m not “ Enjoying the ambiance and building a connection with my barista” 😂😂😂
