They did follow up, wakefield himself was offered a very very large team and paycheck to recreate his study under more vigorous constrains and he avoided it for 2 years then said the hospital was out to get him
He forgot the part where was paid by a lawyer to find the link between MMR and autism for a class action lawsuit.
"the light left their eyes" anime type stuff
4:02 it's weird that before people knew what cancer was, nobody was diagnosed with cancer. Doctors diagnoses must be giving people cancer
August making me think we're about to get the elusive Destiny vs. Dr. Mengele debate. 😔
I love how the man who himself said autism wasn't even talked about when he was in med school and then later on the numbers of autism increased. I wonder if it has anything to do with, you know, doctors who previously not even having learned about it now being better at recognizing the symptoms. It's simultaneously hilarious and depressing that someone who managed to graduate from med school can't comprehend this simple idea
at 4:50 we get the silly argument that "mom knows their kid best and is always able to diagnose". I remember my childhood friend had Leukemia but somehow his mom *didn't* know it for quite a long time... almost like she *didn't* have a sixth sense about her kid's blood markers. Another friend growing up had a hypchondriac for a mother and something was *always* wrong. This is a shite argument.
This guy is the same as all the other grifters. They lay out all the issues with things and never a single answer.
that bait title is crazy work august
This is the blueprint for the most successful type of grift. Take something that frustrates some people (doctors not listening, immigration) inject a solution that doesnt work but validates their concerns and gives you money/power/fame. Spend time promoting yourself and when criticised claim that never said these things and that you were merely highlighting the issues need for more research/attention.
