You have this immediate denial, that no no no, moment in your head followed with,oh this is bad. A flood of all these emotions in the span of a few seconds.

the story about the kid wanting to go to college hit me hard. i got accepted to Tulane and i had to decline because my mom had so much anxiety about me leaving the state. i still wonder how my life would be different if i had gone to Tulane, but also my mom died two years ago so in that way i dont regret spending extra time with her. not easy.
