Dementia is not an inevitable part of aging. Many of the risk factors linked to cognitive decline, memory loss, and dementia are connected to lifestyle, nutrition, metabolic health, and chronic inflammation. High-carb diets and vitamin deficiencies are often contributing factors. Nutrient deficiencies, insulin resistance, poor sleep, environmental toxins, hormone imbalances, and gut health can all affect cognitive function and increase dementia risk. Taking a proactive approach to brain health can help preserve cognitive function, support healthy aging, and reduce the risk of dementia over time. Certain genetic factors can increase your risk for dementia, but they are not in control! Focus on a healthy diet and lifestyle changes for your best defense against dementia. Please don't just watch this. Save it, study it, take notes, and take as many of these actions as you can. This is one of the most complete lists of preventatives that I have seen. I wanted to add a few other things that I've seen recommended recently, bird watching, walking backwards, and eating eggs regularly.

My opinion as a nurse, working in nursing home. Seems 90% of elderly who are on heart meds and are put on low fat diets have dementia or at least extreme memory loss. The brain needs fat to function. Taking away healthy fat and on medication for the heart starves the brain
