My older brother graduated in 1977 and he said this is a very accurate portrayal of high school in the 1970s.
Our parents had American Graffiti. We had Dazed and Confused.
"What is this movie about?" Quentin Tarantino referred to this as the best "hangout movie" he's ever seen. You're just hanging out with these characters, and soaking up this particular moment in time and life. Edit: American Graffiti is the other main movie in this genre for me.
"Your sister told me everything..." followed by "Have you been drinking?" is such a funny combo. Big sis came through in the end ✌
Matthew McConaughey was perfectly cast as that guy who peaked in highschool. And, of course, this was the film that got him noticed.
For us 80's kids, Fast Times At Ridgemont High is our Dazed and Confused.
19:53 "I'm worried about his brain cells." Now *THAT* is genuinely funny!
I met my wife cruising up and down the road like they were. 34 years together now!!
Richard Linklater is one of the greatest. Before trilogy, Scanner darkly, Waking life, School of rock - all must see.
Cassie, this movie doesn't have a strong central plot, and is best appreciated when you know it's basically just a snapshot in time in the lives of high school kids from the 1970s.
