Alabama's Teacher of the Year Turned Out To Be a Monster. This Is Horrifying.
Commentary on Discipline Following Teacher Child Abuse Arrest
Analyze the viral video of a teacher allegedly beating her son and establish clear boundaries between discipline and emotional abuse based on parental modeling.
Short Summary
- Discipline rooted in a parent's uncontrolled anger constitutes abuse, regardless of historical justification like "old school" methods.
- Effective parenting requires demonstrating the exact behavioral traits—like self-control and discipline—you expect your children to exhibit.
- If anger reactions mimic the behavior you punish in your child (e.g., yelling, physical striking), you are modeling abuse, not discipline.
This discussion unpacks the societal defense of physical punishment seen after an Alabama teacher was arrested for child abuse. The speaker argues that discipline must always be calm and measured, emphasizing that venting parental frustration physically is universally defined as abuse.

Discipline is an act of love, abuse is an act of rage.
There is a huge difference between disciplining and punishment & abuse.
There is a difference in spanking a child for the reason of disciplining and beating a child out of a raging anger. My mother always said, never spank a child when you are angry.
End teachers unions
My teacher picked me up by my ears as he screamed in my face as I pissed myself in front of an entire classroom. All for passing a paper back to the wrong kid. That same teacher became the principal a year later. He was about 6ft, 250lbs. It was the 5th grade. All the students laughed. If a teacher abuses your kid, CALL THE POLICE, because the schools do _nothing_ ! Press charges to the fullest extent.
Most actually good teachers just show up to work, do their job and go home. The ones who have a heavy social media presence especially TikTok and getting overfamiliar with the kids are the real red flags. Unfortunately the trash teachers are the loudest and biggest virtue signalers and paint the profession negatively when most likely a huge percentage of teachers are actually decent people's just doing the best they can to stay employed and keep their family provided for like anyone in any career.
...never discipline a child out of anger...
The teachers union is the biggest fraud there is. Home school your children folks. The public education system is indoctrinating your children
very disturbing to watch 😢 she does not need to be anywhere near any child, animal, or plant!
I was thrown against the wall as a kid. My mother would get into rages screaming and yelling. I didn’t turn out fine. I was intelligent but I was broken inside. My mother was also alcoholic and she hated me. I went down substance abuse track to feel better. Now I am working with parents as a behaviour specialist helping them use firm and fair boundaries with also positive parenting techniques.
