Namecheap about to find out that LawyerNotCheap.
Well, namecheap just got to my never to be used again list
Being sued for domain names is crazy
Registration Service Provider here. The whole industry is F’d. We’re an RSP and not a registrar because when we applied, ICANN would not approve us. They told us our business model was not viable because it did not adequately subsidize domain sales with something else. So if you wonder why every registrar seems to do that, like Theo describes, it’s because that’s what ICANN requires. Whether it’s Cloudflare’s other business or GoDaddy’s weird SEO packages or whatever. Even the industry’s “oversight” panel thinks domain registration is a racket.
I’ve been with Namecheap for like 12 years. I’m really considering a switch with the recent news. Anyone got a recommendation?
Thanks for using your platform to call out bad actors and give better alternatives, backed up by logical reasoning.
porkbun .. not affiliated, but oh boy, 90's simplicity at it's best. They do have some TLDs tht need to be renewed one month in advance, but it's not their fault.
I got a namecheap end credit ad for this video.
"If any of my sponsors hurt any of my viewers, let me know" Here's a subscription for that sentence.
This is the natural result of lawyers who have internalized "Law is not justice" starting to explore what they can legally get away with in service of their client.
