As a newer YouTube creator, I found this encouraging. I completely agree that people still want to learn from real human beings who have actually walked the path they're talking about. That's how I've used YouTube for years, learning everything from knitting and sewing to home repairs from people generously sharing their experience. I'm not sure my channel is quite large enough yet to make affiliate links worthwhile, but I do appreciate the reminder that there are multiple ways to build income over time. Right now, I'm focused on slowly growing an engaged community, but it's helpful to keep these possibilities in mind as the channel evolves.

I've been doing product reviews for quite a while but I just now started with Amazon associates and already got a sale after 2 days. I am a professional writer, songwriter musician etc and I have spent the last 12 years or so mostly writing articles for other companies. I was a ghost writer and was paid for every article I wrote which was fine at the time but now I realize affiliate marketing is the way to go because, while I'm still advertising brands etc, I focus on the ones I really like myself and can literally create a retirement or passive income over time from people purchasing items through my links.

Good morning, Lori. This is truly wonderful. I thoroughly enjoy listening to you. I just celebrated my 71st birthday today, and I recall attempting affiliate marketing about 15 years ago, though without significant success. I tried again last year, and similarly, it didn't yield much luck. However, what I did discover were public domain books. The wonderful aspect of these books is that you are essentially giving them a new life, as many have never been heard of before. It's quite profound to read something that is 130 years old, written by someone who likely used only an oil lamp, meticulously penning their thoughts onto paper. It's a very moving experience. While I engage in this for personal enjoyment, I also do so because it allows me to revitalize someone's work from a century ago. Thank you for all that you do.

Keep talking, i, too have no retirement, and I'm 78 yrs. but your typical senior, whatever that is??? Lori, neither are you, and I like working, but was in college, when I had a big down=fall, hitting rock bottom. that was 1.5 yrs.ago. Really trying to recoup, isn/t easy. I have ADD and just can't focus or articulate what I would be good at. I have no idea where to start. I am 50, been a nurse for 24 years. Mom of 3 daughters. Little money saved in retirement and miserable in life.
