I can spot Betelgeuse from my bedroom window in the late evening. I check it every night before I fall asleep, you know...just to make sure it's still there.

Betelgeuse must really be close to dying if its partner is holding a wake

The partner should be named Lydia . . .

I'm kinda sad now knowing that I won't live to see it go supernova 😥

This is why I love Anton. NO BS, just facts.

Anton, your knack for making even seemingly obscure science facts into a really entertaining narrative is bar none! Thanks for keeping up with the great, insightful content bro

This is fascinating. A companion star can carve a wake in the gas as it orbits, like a boat moving through water, and that structure can stick around for years. Nerdy fun fact: Betelgeuse is a red supergiant, so its outer layers are so loosely bound that it is constantly shedding material into space.

We already knew that planet, that is where Ford Prefect was from.

It will go supernova if you post three videos about it in a row, unbroken.

Maybe if everyone says betelguese three times in unison then it will go supernova
