Because it is absolutely INCONCEIVABLE that we haven’t broken down all the fun onscreen and production details of this classic comedic romance tale so let’s finally get into it! “The Princess Bride” was directed and produced by Rob Reiner while also being co-produced by Andrew Scheinman as an adaptation of 1973’s “The Princess Bride” novel written by William Goldman. William Goldman also wrote the script for this movie and was very much involved on set during production. Goldman was inspired by his two daughters before he came up with the premise of his novel…as one daughter suggested he write a story about a princess and the other recommended a story about a bride…so like the absolute madman that he is, the dude smushed the concepts together and went to work.
