I donβt think you understand how much of a lifesaver you are to the gardening world, especially to us, newbies π . I had no clue what I was doing when I first started, and I would be in my living room watching your videos, as if I was in a college lecture taking notes. π Thanks big dawg!
Why wouldnβt anyone want to grow a magical fruit
Watching Kevin clean up his Felcos made me wish you guys would dedicate a show to demonstrating how to maintain tools. I just bought new Felco pruners because I abuse them so badly and didnβt maintain them. Oh and now youβve talked me into planting beans. π
I inter-crop bush beans all through my garden. They only take 50 days to harvest so planting them next to cabbage or winter squash which take 100 days means the bean harvest will be finished by the time these plants start needing space. Clipping the beans at the base of the plant, leaving the roots adds nitrogen which both cabbage and squash need.
Ha ha ha! Wait till it's 60Β°F before sewing... I live in SE Alaska in a rain forest, and right now April 24th it is 40Β°F. We get very excited when it gets to 50Β°F! In the summer if it gets up in the upper 60'sΒ°F or above people complain of the heat. Systems adapted for a different kind of environmental factors.
I was delighted to see some white packets with the iconic artwork on a spinning stand at my local Sprouts. Congrats on the seed company's success and thanks for giving me access to quality seeds and plant varieties.
I love growing and canning my beans every year. One of my favorite crops to grow.
I love growing beans! We grow them and are able to give sooo many away to our community π±βΊοΈ
Last year in my small (less than 100 square ft.) garden, I grew about 40 lb. of blue lake pole beans, along with my tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, turnips, carrots, and green onions. Don't think I'll be planting quite so many beans this year.
I grew a few bush beans last autumn (8a grower here) and was pleasantly surprised at how easily they grew and how many beans I got, as a person who is gardening for an occasional treat at this point - I have a half dozen containers no more than 15 gallons in size, so the fruitfulness is limited but it's a good point for where I am now - an apartment dweller who's slowly learning to care for plants from scratch and losing some plants in the process. I just planted another 6 in a growbag when my attempt at carrots failed in them, excited to see these eager growers pop up again!
