I think like, what we fail to recognize is that “doing better” is not the same as “doing well”. If I score a 59 on a test this week, and I got a 37 on a test last week, I am doing better , but I am still failing. And the white folk in our country are looking at a higher percentage F as if it is somehow an improvement and it just isn’t.
"Shut up! don't interrupt me on Martin Luther King Day! That ain't cool!" 😅LOL! I love an angry Leslie Jones!
"Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
EXCELLENT. I MISS Trevor. He was a great interviewer. This was an excellent collage`. Thanks.
What a great show! ❤ I am celebrating MLK Jr Day by reading his speeches and having discussions with others on his importance and legacy.
I LOVED this interview, speaking about the context: Correta King, the work done BEFORE King by Ms. Parks, and the vision of HUMAN RIGHTS, the Poor Tour, the Anti War movement. Coming together in a common place with Malcolm X...this is never taught in school!
Then again, I was a teacher for 23 years and a History major. My favorite writing prompt was have we met those goals, completely missed, or somewhere in between
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" ---Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
“We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” MLK
