This bad guy was especially scary because he's exactly like Hiccup. He's smart, he has charisma, he knows nearly everything about dragons especially nightfurys. He's Hiccup, his dark reflection, if Hiccup had gone down the other path and killed toothless when they met. Definitely intimidating.
That final scene of Hiccup and Astrid visiting Toothless and the Light Fury to introduce their children to each other will never fail to make me cry, no matter how old I get. It’s an absolutely perfect bookend to the series because while it shows that humanity as a whole is not ready to coexist with dragons, the Berkians and the dragons will not only keep the secret of The Hidden World safe, they will pass on that love for each other generation after generation. Until one day when humanity grows up enough to share this world with the dragons.
So there’s a a part that most people haven’t seen unless your a die hard fan. Hiccup did try to give him the ability to fly on his own in a short film in between the first and second movie but toothless upon receiving it destroyed it because he wanted to stay with hiccup. Hence Astrid’s line of “you’ve tried this before he didn’t want it”
The how to train your dragon films series are one of the rare few film gems that get better with each new film

Even a cut down version of the movie makes me cry lol. The music is what really gets me going in the last 10 - 15 mins
Hiccup was 15 years old in the first movie, in the 2nd one he's 20 and part 3 is set one year later making him 21. The future flash forward at the end of the last movie is set 10 years after the events of the "The Hidden World", making hiccup 31 years old ;). So it is possible toothless simply didn't recognize his old human bff at first as he looked so much older compared to the last time he saw him, until he recognized his scent.
The Homecoming short ties directly to the ending of the last movie.
The scene of Hiccup letting go and falling to have the Light Fury save Toothless, and the scene of them saving goodbye to each other at the end never fails to make me fucking cry. Doesn’t matter how many times I watch this series or reaction videos. Every single time I watch those scenes, instant crying.
