When you started saying “Do not google!” my brain immediately went “oooh, what am I about to definitely google and probably regret?” and then the follow up of hearing “shirtless Alex Murdaugh” never got me in check so fast in my life.
I'm really pleased we have changed our double jeopardy rules in the UK. We now have very specific circumstances where someone can be tried twice but there needs to be a substantial change in new evidence as determined by a judge its an extremely high bar to meet but allows justice if needed
THANK YOU for not calling it an apology video!!!!! I don't know why people keep calling it that when there's zero apology!!! I agree, response video is more like it
This Alissa Tourney ruling is infuriating. I feel so terrible for Sarah and her family right now. The way I gasped when you said the ruling. Omg. 😔😔😔
The level of destruction the Murdaugh family has left in its wake is astonishing, disgusting, and so incredibly tragic for all of the innocent victims, and we haven't even heard the extent of his financial crimes yet!!
Replay crew - this music copyright scamming stuff is FASCINATING!
The whole acquittal questioning reminds me of the what happened with Emmett Till's murderers. They later admitted they had done it but nothing could be done because double jeopardy was attached. So the whole time your going over this with chat I’m just thinking back to classes I had in history that went over the Emmett Till case. No doubt there are places where double jeopardy is good, but frustrating when someone later fully admits to murder but can’t be tried due to double jeopardy as well.
Replay crew (from family vacay in Mexico): 1:32:54 I’m loving this judge and how polite he is just before this. “If I’m looking down I’m not disrespecting you. I’m reading along.” ❤️❤️ gotta love that courtesy.
Thanks for the Tinsley "fix" today Emily! His accent makes me feel like I'm back the Texas. I wouldn't kick him out of bed for 'eating crackers!😂
I work in the copyright and royalties side of the music industry and it’s RIFE with streaming piracy since distributors (CDBaby, DistroKid, etc) have little to no infrastructure in tackling the issue. The law in all countries are at least 5 years behind when it comes to anything technology related so issues with music copyrights are unfortunately a lot and the governments often don’t care. There aren’t enough big musicians/performers lobbying the governments and pushing them so everyone just gets away with any scams. In the US, there’s no neighbouring rights like many European countries do so even major record labels are claiming rights they don’t own. It’s a mess! Like you said, all these companies pass on responsibilities to each other. And even royalty collection companies who have been around for years still have slow verification systems. There’s not even a global database because the majors keep lobbying against it as they profit so much from it. It’s awful for the creators. Happy to share the verification processes there are on the distribution and royalty payments side to you if you want!
