Hollywood always has an agenda. Quality cinema is not on that agenda.
If all the critics love it. That is a warning.
It sounds like a one-trick metafilm: A brutal overbearing film about brutes, one of whom is a brutalist architect who survived some nazi brutes & designs brutalist overbearing ugly buildings. End with viewer going: Wow I'm impressed that's so deep & nihilistic. Think I'll drink some bleach now.
Awards these days are red flags now.
We reached a point, several years ago, that watching YouTubers rip apart movies is far more entertaining than any actual movie that comes out.
At this point the Oscars are a reliable source for identifying movies I shouldn't waste my time on.
We all know why the movies have so much degraded sex and violence— because the people who want to watch it are the ones who make movies. Thanks for this public service, Matt. I wasn’t keen on watching it before, but will definitely give it a miss now.
I didn't think my opinion of Hollywood could get any lower, but here we are.
