As a Mexican, I think Korean food is the culture that still hits the new and comfort food for me. Plus I love to combine the two
I really appreciate this podcast especially as a Korean person! Pleasantly surprised to learn that Josh (and Nicole) had quite a good understanding of Korean food! There are so much more to Korean food than just BBQ and fried chicken, and I am glad you brought in Deuki and Matt to talk about it in depth. It was refreshing! Thanks guys ❤
i’m on vacation in korea right now, and i can confirm YES THE FOOD IS TOP TIER 😫😩💦💦💦
Cheese in ramen is so good. I also get weird faces and pushback about it. I haven't NOT used cheese in a decade
My first Korean meal in an upstairs restaurant in Melbourne CBD and I was blown away by the generosity of all the fermented and vegetable pickles - my #1 vibe around Korean food is generosity of spirit.
Shoutout to MAANGCHI!! For introducing millions of people to Korean home cooking via youtube!
We starcraft players have been living hallyu/한류 for decades now. Korean food is truly incredible.
The best Korean food I have ever had was at Korean Veterans Association picnics. My grandfather was an ambulance driver during the Korean War, from Canada. Growing up they had yearly picnics and the food the Aunties made was phenomenal. 27 years later, (years after the group became too small to have these events), I have been chasing that flavour. Nothing has been as good as I remember but I'm glad I had this introduction to Korean food.
K-dramas are big for me. Korean editing is unlike anything we get here in the west and I love every minute of it.
I live in Germany, and Korean food only started coming here in the last decade or so. I fell in love with it when a Korean lunch place opened up near my work at the time, around 12 years ago. It was new, delicious, fresh, just great. When we found the place, we used to go there at least once a week, even though it was a bit pricier than some other options around. When I met my gf three years ago, she told me at our second date that she makes her own kimchi, because she is unhappy about the options that are sold in most shops (and the few good ones at Asian stores are quite expensive). I knew right there and then that she is my type of person.
